Pre Kindergarten Program

4 Years Old - 5 Years Old

Two pre-kindergarten girls, with one writing in a notebook with a pencil and the other one looking over her work

In our pre k program, children have a natural desire to be social and collaborate with their classmates. Often working in pairs or small groups aids in allowing the children to learn how to navigate sharing ideas, and how to deal with differences. Practical life skills are continued as the children work towards self-care and independence. Having a class job each week gives children a sense of responsibility and ownership. They take ownership of their classroom through cooking, cleaning, and caring for the plants that live in the classroom. Children thrive with their hands on exploration of language, math, science, and arts. Each day begins with the children asking questions and deciding as a class what to investigate together. The repetition of class routines helps the children to develop the ability to concentrate, focus, and self- correct.

Using Creative Curriculum allows us to develop children's imaginations by providing exciting stimulus and then allowing children to explore themselves. It is exciting for the adults to share and celebrate the children's ideas and enthusiasm, and with guidance, children are able to meet academic milestones. We encourage a strong sense of community by working closely with our families. Our carefully prepared classrooms support children’s emotional, social, academic and physical growth so that they are well prepared for their academic journey as they leave Kinder Prep and enter Kindergarten.
